Integration of Tradition and Fashion in Domestic Wedding Dress Design: Analysis of Innovation in Cai Mei-yue's Modern Wedding Dress Design

China's wedding dress industry started relatively late compared to West, the design philosophy just stay at simple imitation and plagiarism of western works and lack of ethnic characteristics and traditional culture. The thesis made investigation and comprehensive analysis of current Chinese wedding market and design situation and intensively analyzed wedding dress works of local brand Cai Mei-yue, combination point of international fashion and Chinese Culture was found. To design a wedding dress which could represent Chinese quintessence and novelty is a new development direction for wedding dress design.
