Abstract
Objective To study the effect of β cypermethrin (β CP) on testicular damage in male rats. Methods Adult male Wistar rats were administrated orally with β CP in different doses (20,40,80 mg/kg respectively) for 8 weeks. We examined sperm counts, sperm motility and malformation sperms with routine procedures and performed pathological examination of testicular tissue. Results The rate of viable sperms (60.50%) and the degree of sperm motility (56.55%) in the high dose group were significantly lower than those in the control group (78.75%,72.20% respectively) (P0 05),pathological change s of testicular Sertoli cells and each level of spermatogenic cells of male rats were also found. No abnormal findings were observed in middle and low dose groups .Conclusion β CP may induce the testicular damage of male rats at the level of high dose.
