Abstract
It is usually troublesome to generate chlorine dioxide through the reaction of sodium chlorite and an acid because the reactants must be weighed on the spot. By adding a stabilizer into the reactants previously, a stable mixture of sodium chlorite and solid acid can be prepared and stored. A clear yellow aqueous solution of chlorine dioxide will be immediately obtained when the mixture is added into water. It is very convenient to use chlorine dioxide by this method.
