Abstract
DNA family shuffling is a powerful technique for molecular evolution in vitro.This approach involves mixing of a family of homologous sequences obtained from nature,typically the same gene from related species or related genes from a single species,which create so unusual diversity for protein directed evolution and structure-function analysis that it stands out among numerous DNA shuffling methods.Nowadays,DNA family shuffling has developed rapidly and is applied in increasing fields successfully.It plays an important role in biosynthesis pathway,plant disease treatment,environmental pollution control,pharmaceutical industry research,heterology highexpress system,etc.The development of DNA family shuffling covering its novel strategies and new applications has emerged recently.Looking forward to its prospect is reviewed in this paper.
