Analysis of CRP Gene Polymorphism and the Relationship Between hs-CRP and Ischemic Stroke

Objective To investigate the C-reactive protein(CRP)gene polymorphism and hs-CRP in ischemic stroke.Methods The subjects were 146cases.The observation group(73cases)was ischemic stroke patients from September 2011to October 2013in our hospital.The control group had 73healthy patients came to our hospital at the same period.Two groups were compared by sex,age,diastolic blood pressure,systolic blood pressure,serum GLU, TG,LDL-C,HDL-L,TC and the patients with type 2diabetes mellitus and hypertension,as well as the plasma hsCRP concentration index.The relationship between CRP gene expression and hs-CRP concentrations with ischemic stroke was analyzed.Results In observation group,the patients with type 2diabetes mellitus,the percentage of patients with hypertension,LDL-C levels,HDL-C levels,diastolic and systolic blood pressure were significantly higher,TC was significantly lower than the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).In observation group,hs-CRP concentration and hs-CRP index were higher than control group(P0.05).Elevated hsCRP level index was positively correlated to CRP gene rs3091244,rs3093059,rs876537(P0.05),ischemic stroke was negatively correlated to CRP gene rs3091244,rs3093059(P0.05).Conclusion CRP gene variants,plasma hsCRP levels and ischemic stroke are closely related,suggesting that hs-CRP index elevation is associated with ischemic stroke development.
