Abstract
The adsorption and desorption of Sb(V) on montmorillonite, kaolinite and goethite were investigated at different pH values and ionic strength. The adsorption capacity of three minerals for Sb(V) had significantly differences. The montmorillonite had much greater Sb(V) adsorption capacity than the other two minerals. The kaolinite and the goethite had the similar adsorption capacity. Results indicated that the adsorption was affected strongly by pH.Sb(V) adsorption decreased with the increase of pH.The desorption of Sb(V) on kaolinite was high, while Sb(V) desorption on the other minerals was low.Sb(V) adsorption on kaolinite decreased with the increase of ionic strength, while the effect of ionic strength on Sb(V) adsorption on the other minerals was slight.
