Abstract

The numerical simulation method is proposed for analyzing the temperature field in a component with an embedding ellipse oblique crack at the moment when the pulse current is switched on.The three coordinate finite element model with crack is founded. The process of crack arrest using the electromagnetic heating is simulated, and the temperature field distribution of the metal component with different oblique angle crack is given at the moment when the pulse current is switched on.The current density vector diagrams are given for the different oblique angle, and the rule of the temperature field distribution changing with the oblique angles of crack surface is analyzed. The calculation results show that:the oblique angle between the pulse current direction and crack surface is important factor which affects the crack prevention effects. In research, the experimental of crack arrest in cold die is applied by using equipment of ZL-2.
