Spiritual Predicament of China's Modern University System

In the history of higher education's development,coincidentally,the formation of the university's spirit is the symbol of the construction of modern university system.University's spirit in the present age in China faces confusion and it has some sources: congenital deficiency of its too thick bureaucratic airs;historical misunderstanding of little continuity in its development;discomfort of its stage in the social transformation.The construction of modern university system depends on those traditional factors: humanistic spirit,self-governing spirit,the spirit of academic freedom and critical spirit as well;meanwhile,those modern factors,including tolerant spirit,exceeding spirit and innovative spirit,should also be taken into consideration.
