Endocrine Therapy of Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a hormone-dependent tumor in which oestrogen stimulus plays an important role in its occurrence.For breast cancer patients whose ER and PR are positive,endocrine therapy should be adopted after operation.Endocrine therapy should be applied in accordance with the patients′ specific conditions to improve its efficacy as an adjuvant therapy and saving treatment for recurrent metastatic breast cancer.This paper summarizes the endocrine therapy for premenopausal breast cancer,postmenopausal breast cancer and breast cancer in special cases like recurrent metastatic breast cancer and male breast cancer,and discusses the recent advances of resistance to endocrine therapy.
