Abstract
The product design for mass customization is the key to successfully implement mass customization in enterprises. The paper introduced four kinds of product design methods for mass customization. Product collocation design is a method which is based on preexisting product configuration and modules. Product variation design is a method which is not only based on preexisting product configuration and modules but also on the diversification of the module size according to the different demands of customers. Product combination design chooses product configuration and modules according to the requirements of customers. And when there are great changes in customer demands, product innovation design is used. The features of the four design methods were compared in the end.
