Abstract
By qualitative and quantitative analysis method, the species composition and dominant genera of Periphytonic ciliates on the shells of Haliotis diversicolor in cultivation environment were studied. During the cultivation, totally 58 species of ciliates were found, belonging to 3 classes, 9 orders and 35 genera. The dominant ciliate species were Vorticella and Zoothamnium, especially Z. alternans. This species, with a higher abundance, was found on each abalone shell. The ciliate community succession on the shells and its effecting factors were also discussed.
