Abstract
Seedlings of wheat were used as the receptor plants to study the allelopathic effects of Sorghumusing aqueous extracts from different organs at different concentrations. The results showed that the Sorghumhad strong allelopathic effects on the growth of seedling and roots of wheat, which presented promotion effects in low concentration and inhibition in high concentration. The root growth of wheat was significantly inhibited, compared to seedling growth of wheat. The physiological parameters of wheat studied in the high concentration of water extract indicated that the water extract of Sorghuminhibited the vigor of the plant roots, decreased the concentration of soluble protein, but increased the content of MDA.At the same time,it was found that water extracts of Sorghumreduced the activities of hyperoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT)and peroxide enzyme(POD).As to the synthetic inhibiting effects(SE),the allelopathic inhibition of Sorghum stem extracts was stronger than that of spike, and the effect of leaf extracts was the weakest.
