The Artistic Representation of "Spirit" in XU Hun's Poetry

Abstract

XU Hun was an excellent but controversial poet in the late Tang Dynasty.Many poets have analyzed XU Hun's poems from the angle of spirit.Some commented on his poetry with such words as lacking in and style and no profound spirit,which is in fact improper.In my opinion,XU Hun's poems are full of spirit,including the spirit of his personality and interest,the spirit of rhythm and rhyme,the spirit in his well-knit poetic structure,and the spirit in his precise wording.
