Abstract

【Objective】The research of testing the efficacy and dosage of different pesticides for controlling Helicoverpa armigera was conducted in Shache,Xinjiang in 2007 and 2008.【Method】The experimentation was performed when the eggs production peak and immature larvae of 2nd Generation Helicoverpa armigera occurred.【Result】The efficacy of 45% profenofos·beta-cypermethrin EC 675 g a.i./hm2,40% profenofos E C600 g a.i./hm2,5% hexaflumuron EC75g a.i./hm2,40% chlorpyrifos EC 720 g a.i./hm2 and 1.8% abamectin EC 18.9 g a.i./hm2 were better than or same as the efficacy of 35% endosulfan EC and 2.5% lambad-cyhalothrin EW under the testing density and they are safe for cotton.【Conclusion】For control of Helicoverpa armigera,45% profenofos·beta-cypermethrin EC,40% profenofos EC,5% hexaflumuron EC,40% chlorpyrifos EC and 1.8% abamectin EC can be applied alternately with regular pesticides or even replace the local regular pesticidcs for better control effect.
