Reform in the Teaching of Specialized English Writing Directed by Constructivism

Abstract

Many fresh teaching thoughts have been put forward in Constructivism Theory, which is a great challenge to the traditional teaching methods. Based on the new thoughts, teaching of specialized English writing should be reformed in both teaching ideas and teaching modes. The author of this paper, enlightened by the new teaching theory, discusses how to form the new ideas and modes, and meanwhile apply such ideas as situational teaching and cooperative learning to different stages of the teaching of English writing.
