Abstract

This paper focuses on the analysis of the interference fits between gears and crankshaft section, indentifies the major factors which impact the contact state of the interference fits. The finite element model was created with the principle that the minimum fit tolerance is determined when enduring maximum torque without slipping, and that the maximum fit tolerance is fixed by the limitation of the structural strength.
