Abstract
Qingdao Bay Bridge is the first super-large bridge group in frozen sea in north China,and the length is 28.074km.The lock-type steel boxed cofferdam combines advantages of traditional steel boxed cofferdam and steel sheet piles cofferdam to make good results of easy assemble and installation of the bridge, precise location,good stability and less investment of machine.Combining with construction of water piers in Qingdao Bay Bridge,the author briefly shows the construction technical principle,construction process flow,the key construction methods and needed materials and equipment of lock-type steel boxed cofferdam.
