Abstract

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of joint detection of homocystein(Hcy), serum cystatin C(CysC), glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c) and urine microalbumin(U-mAlb) in diagnosis of early diabetic renal impairment. Methods The levels of serum Hcy, CysC, HbA1 c and U-mAlb were detected in 65 health people(NC group) and 122 patients with type 2 diabets mellitus(T2DM) [62 patients with negative urinary protein(group A), 60 patients with positive urinary protein(group B)]. Results The levels of Hcy, CysC,HbA1 c and U-mAlb in T2 DM patients were obviously higher than those of NC group(P0.01), and those levels increased more significantly in group B than in group A(P0.01). Conclusion The levels of serum Hcy, CysC, HbA1 c and U-mAlb are closely related to the early renal impairment in T2 DM. The joint detection is important for the early diagnosis, control and monitoring of diabetic nephropathy.
