Abstract
In modern computer controlled strip steel production, the prediction of rolling force is very important.Based on the rolling force model and field data of Baoshan steel plant, then associated with the features of three dimensional deformation and thermo-mechanical coupling in continuous hot strip rolling process, the finite element model of the first two passes in continuous hot strip rolling process was established by using the DEFORM-3D software. The rolling forces of the two passes were simulated and then contrasted with the calculated values of Baoshan steel plant model and measured values. The result shows that the rolling forces calculated by the finite element method are close to the measured data, their errors are less than 5.0%;meanwhile,the accuracy of the finite element model is higher than that of the Baoshan steel plant model, especially at the first pass, the accuracy of the rolling force is 4.0% higher than that of Baoshan steel plant model;this simulation can provide an important reference to the optimization of field process parameters.
