Abstract

Objective To observe effects of acupuncture before, during and different stages after development of dysfunctional state. Methods Dysfunctional state of the decrease of gastric electrical activity rhythm was developed by continuously intravenous import of anisodamine hydrochloride solution. The study was carried out in 3 groups: ① Acupuncture precondition was given 30 min before and immediately after development of the dysfunctional state; ② Acupuncture was given immediately after development of the dysfunctional state; ③ Acupuncture was given 5 min after development of the dysfunctional state. Zusanli (ST 36) was selected in the 3 groups. Regulative effects of acupuncture on gastric electrical activity rhythm among the 3 groups were compared. Results The latent periods in the 3 groups delayed and the effects of acupuncture decreased in order. Conclusion Acupuncture at different stages of the dysfunctional state has different effects, and precondition of acupuncture can increase and accelerate the acupuncture effect.
