Effect of Nursing Management Interventions on Rates of Nursing Faults

Objective To reduce the incidence of nursing faults by nursing management interventions with the purpose of improving nursing quality.Methods According to the main causes of nursing faults specific nursing management interventions were conducted and the results were compared before and after the nursing management interventions.Results By nursing management interventions,the rate of nursing faults decreased from 65 times(22.34%) before interventions to 14 times(4.56%) after interventions.The main causes of nursing faults such as lack of responsibility and less check decreased from 54 times before interventions to 14 times after interventions.The nursing faults resulting from technical level and against-procedure in nursing practices dropped down to zero.Conclusion It is helpful to reduce nursing faults by regulating nursing management system and strengthening special capability training on nurses.
