Restudy on the Siliurian llandovery Telychian Stratigraphy of Nanhao area in Baoting County,Hainan Island

Abstract

Systematic geological investigation and stratum section study was approved that no early Carboniferous Brochipoda: Eochoristites, Fusella,Spirifer etc.,have known from lower Carboniferous Nanhao Formation lectostratotype and establish Nanhao Formation locality of the fossil in the Nanhao area,Hainan Island.Further research above montion establish Nanhao Formation location of the fossil and lectostratotype section,there are found abound Brachipoda,Coroal,Trilobita and Chondrichthyes etc.;indicate that the Zusailing Formation refers to Llandovician Telychian middle-later in age.We advise that discard Nanhao Formation of the early Carboniferous.It was collate and stipulate that lithostratigraphy of the Zusailing Formation in Silurian again,based on rock association,parasequence types etc.,it was subdivided into four lithology members,it was sedimentary of the Llandovician Telychian in silurian in ages.
