Abstract
On the basis of author′s research for 10 years, especially as the chief editor of 'Specifications of Highway Landscape Planting, MOC', the concept of in a large domain of highway culture is defined in the light of Chinese traditional philosophy. What are discussed in detail here are the engineering factors and ecological factors of highway landscape from such perspectives as the alignment design, service area location, highway classification, horizontal and vertical curves, highway facilities, views borrowing, ecological planting landscape, etc. The suggestions are given on the trend of highway landscape development. Many cases are analyzed to show their advantages and disadvantages.
