Abstract

Sinee 1973, reciprocal crosses of 21 combinations between n=26 (Gossypium hirsutum, G. barbadense) and n=13 (G. arboreum, G. herbaceum) cotton species have been made to study the ways of overcoming low seed set of interspecific hybridization and the sterility of F_1 plants. The results are summarized as follows:
