Abstract
Terahertz technology is a very promising technology. Terahertz source,terahertz detector and terahertz application are three key-points in terahertz technology field. The applied demand in terahertz spectroscopy,terahertz imaging,and terahertz communication are analyzed; the mechanism and characteristics of terahertz source as well as the main current classification and the common terahertz detectors are also introduced. Based on the developing progress of infrared detectors,developing trends and the probably technique difficulties of terahertz detectors in the future are also analyzed from the view of photonics.
