Abstract
In order to analyze ecological values of an urban ecosystem, this paper provided a systematic analysis on the value of urban ecosystem services based on the concept of sustainable development in ecological economics. There are several appraisal approaches that could be used in ecosystem valuation.Because the urban ecosystem services are uncertain,it must be considered with a minimum estimate. For the total capital, natural capital contributes to human welfare more than 1/3 in the urban ecosystem every year, and therefore represents part of the total economic and social value.Sustainable development can only be achieved when natural capital is increasing in a urban ecosystem.
