On the Developing Stage and Basic Features of Contemporary Capitalism

The history of capitalism is a social movement history of changes and development.Promoted by its inherent contradictions,it has experienced the stages of free capitalism,private monopoly capitalism,national monopoly capitalism,and has reached the stage of international monopoly capitalism.International monopoly capitalism is the capitalism that uses international capital to control international production,international investment,and international market,to suppress politically and exploit economically the developing countries.It has five basic features: 1 Cross country enterprises become the main stay of world economy;2 international direct investment becomes the major form of international investment;3 the concentration of production and capital forms global monopoly market;4 the alliance of capitalists international monopoly becomes more solid;5 the Western developed countries headed by America establish global hegemony based on comprehensive national power.In this stage,socialism is not powerful enough to confront capitalism,therefore must take the road of coexistence,cooperation,peaceful development in a harmonious environment to become powerful.
