Abstract
This paper analyzes the reasons for sand plug in the early fracturing process for Z16 fractured fault block reservoir, discusses the mechanism of creating multi-fracture during fracturing process, and studies sand plug prevention technique for this reservoir. The effectiveness of filtrate reducer is evaluated through experiment. It has been decided to use proppant slug for consideration of multi-fracture prevention. The success ratio of fracturing operation has been improved through optimization of fracturing materials and operation parameters. This technique has been successfully applied in 2 wells with sand concentration being over 2 times higher than that of previous fracturing. The stimulation effect is evident. This study provides technical support for effective development of this fault block reservoir and gives a reference to fracturing operation for similar fractured reservoirs.
