Abstract

At the temperature above cloud point or in the presence of certain additives,an aqueous nonionic surfactant micelle solution was separated into a surfactant diluted phase and a coacervate phase.Solutes that originally present in this system were unevenly distributed into these two phases. This process is known as cloud point extraction.Based on the research results, the theory and application of the new solvent extraction technology were reviewed. The new application of cloud point extraction in microbial transformation was presented.
