Abstract
Deinococcus radiodurans,as a model organism in DNA damage and repair,is the most resistant bacterium to ionizing radiation.According to the latest research progress in Deinococcus radiodurans at home and abroad,its physiological and biochemical characteristics,genetics characteristics,damage caused by mutation,highly effective repair mechanism and the application research were all reviewed.The research value and the application prospect were discussed.
