Abstract
Objective To observe the expression of EGFR on the activivity of astrocyte in vitro. Methods Astrocytes obtained purely from newborn rats were cultured with different concentrations:normol medium, medium with ciliary neurotrophic factor(CNTF),and medium with CNTF and Genistein. After cultured for 24h,the shape and the cell cycle of astrocytes were examined by immunocytochemistry, and the expression of GFAP and EGFR were examined by RT-PCR.Results After cultured with CNTF,astrocytes were activited, the expression of GFAP and EGFR increased, and when Genistein was applied in the activited astrocytes, cells' activation was inhibited, and the expression of GFAP was decreased. Conclusion Genistein can inhibit the astrocyte's activation by EGFR.
