Abstract

Objective: To study healthy adult males the changes of blood lipids with age and the prevalence and distribution characteristics of dyslipidemia in normal men aged 20-80 years old. Methods:ELISA method was used in measuring serum triglyceride(TG), serum total cholesterol(TC), serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) and serum low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) in 489 normal male volunteers aged 20-80.Results:LDL and TC were positively correlated with age (P0.05) while no significant relation were found between TG, HDL and age. After correcting smoking factor, there are still a correlation between LDL and TC with age (r=-0.123-0.173, P0.05).②The rate of dyslipidemia among total volunteers population was 57.8%. All subjects were stratified by 10-year age groups , the detection prevalence of dyslipidemia was 40% in20 years-old group and increasing with age. in the 30-69 years of group the prevalence fluctuate between 54.3% to 68.8%,decreasing after the age of 70. ③TC and TG abnormalities were more than the other type of dyslipidemia followed by high LDL dyslipidemia,high-TC combined high TG and low HDL hyperlipidemia, with the detection prevalence respectively 42%, 28.7%, 24.8%, 19.1%, 12.7%.Conclusion: It showes the growth of abnormal blood lipid increase with age adult healthy men.②The main type of dyslipidemia are TC and TG abnormalities.
