Application of damage control surgery in the treatment of severe liver trauma

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of damage control surgery(DCS) in the treatment of severe liver trauma.Methods The clinical data of 46 cases with severe liver trauma from January 2000 to July 2012 were analyzed retrospectively.Results 46 patients were given damage control surgery.40 patients were cured,and 6 patients died.17 cases had complications.Conclusion DCS can take efficacy and simple operation to prevent the injury from deteriorating,save the resuscitation time for patients and get another complete an drational operation or staging operation opportunity.DCS is a safe and reliable operative methods for the severe liver trauma cases,which can decrease mortality of severe liver injury effectively.
