Resource and protection of the national key preserved wild plants in Qizimeishan Nature Preserve

The existed statistics shows that there are 28 species of national key preserved wild plants in Qizimeishan Nature Preserve located in the east of Xuan'en County,Hubei,China.Among them 7 species belong to Class Ⅰ: Ginkgo biloba,Taxus chinensis,Taxus chinensis var.mairei,Bretschneidera sinensis,Brasenia schreberi,Davidia involucrate and Davidia involucrata var.vilmoriniana,and 21 species Class Ⅱ: Pseudotsuga sinensis,Cephalotaxus oliveri,Torreya fargesii,Glycine soja,Cercidiphyllum japonicum,Cinnamomum camphora,Phoebe bournei,Phoebe zhennan,Ormosia henryi,Ormosia hosiei,Liriodendron chinense,Magnolia officinalis,Magnolia officinalis subsp.biloba,Tetracentron sinense,Toona ciliata,Toona ciliata var.Pubescens,Fagopyrum dibotrys,Camptotheca acuminata,Emmenopterys henryi,Phellodendron chinense and Zelkova schneideriana.In this area,the tolal species of the surveyed plants,the species belonging to Class Ⅰ and Class Ⅱ are 60.9%,87.5% and 55.3% of the totol of Hubei Province's distribution,respectively.The characteristics of the plants in this Nature Preserve are: concentrative distribution,small scale of community,severe fragmentization and distinct elevation distribution.Based on this,some suggestions have been put forward for protecting these plants.
