Abstract
In order to know the germicidal efficacy of sodium dichloroisocyanurate and trichloroisocyanuric acid, suspension quantitative germicidal test was carried out. Results: Sodium dichloroisocyanurate and trichloroisocyanuric acid solution containing available chlorine 100 mg/L with a 5 min contact time killed 99.89% and 100% of Escherichia coli in suspention respectively and 99.99% and 100% of Staphylococcus aureus in suspension respectively.Sodium dichloroisocyanurate and trichloroisocyanuric acid solution containing available chlorine 500 mg/L with a 5 min contact time killed 99.99% and 100% of spores of Bacillus subtilis var.niger in suspension respectively and 99.98% and 100% of Aspergillus niger in suspension respectively. Conclusion: Under condition of same concentration of available chlorine, the efficacy of trichloroisocyanuric acid in killing the 4 test microorganisms is higher than that of sodium dichloroisocyanurate.
