On "Benevolence" in "Notes to Analects of Confucius" by Zhu-zi

Abstract

Benevolence is the kernel of Confucianism and plays an important part in it.The formation of Confucianism had taken a long time,during which such scholars as Confucius,Mencius,Cheng Hao,Zhu Xi did remarkable contributions to the development of Confucianism.Among them,Zhu-zi did particularly great contributions to inheriting and developing Confucianism.Today it is important to sort out and study Zhu-zi's contributions to Confucianism and significant for the construction of harmonious society and culture on the west shore of Taiwan Straits.
