Abstract
Many new development have been obtained about the study on bainite phase transformation in Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology since the 21th century.The results indicate that the main character of bainite phase transformation is transitivity.The new definition of bainite and the new mechanism of bainite phase transformation are put forward.The nucleation is at boundary in bainite phase transformation which is the diffusive less γ→α transformation at carbon-poor area but shear process,and nucleation and growth by heat activation transition of interface substitution atoms.The nucleus is single bainite-ferrite(BF) phase but the product from eutectoid decomposition.The bainite carbide(Bc) nucleates at the interface of γ/α and grows into austenite and ferrite,and finally is surrounded by ferrite.The nucleation and growth of bainite carbide is also by atom heat activation transition.
