Interpreting the Cultures of Confucianism,Buddhism,and Taoism in Journey to the West

One of our major tasks of interpreting Journey to the West is to dig out its cultural meaning,namely,what is implied,by penetrating the myth in Journey to the West.This paper interprets the cultures of Confucianism,Buddhism,and Taoism in the novel,and the interpretation covers three parts,namely,the self-help of soul and the refining of personality,the wild and intractable individual freedom and the fearless spirit to venture on human benefit,the integrating and reshaping of personality.
