Abstract
In the study of cross-cultural psychology, the re- searchers often looked on individualism and collectivism as the two kinds of different cultural variables in deciding on the individual behavior and values, to seek human being mentality and the behavior universality and the particularity in different cultural backgrounds. This essay mainly illustrated the definitions of individualism and collectivism, individualism-collectivism dimensions and research methods, and briefly evaluated the research limitations, measurement methods, out-looking the significance of cross-cultural psychology study of individualism and collectivism.
