Abstract
Objective To explore the medication compliance and its influencing factors of elderly patients with hypertension in Xi’an,and to provide evidence for health education.Methods By stratified cluster random sampling,247 elderly patients with hypertension in the communities were interviewed with the Morisky questionnaire.Results The medication compliance rate of elderly patients with hypertension was 42.1%.Forgetting to take medicine was the major reason responsible for low medication compliance rate.The main factor influencing medication compliance was the course of disease(P0.05).Conclusion The medication compliance of elderly patients with hypertension was poor,and course of disease is its main influential factor.Great importance should be attached by hospitals,communities,patients and their families.A pertinence and reasonable health education need to be drafted,so as to improve the medication compliance of elderly patients with hypertension.
