Analysis of Coalbed Methane Potential in the Yanchuannan Area of the Ordos Basin

Yanchuannan is a main area for the Carboniferous-Permian coalbed distribution in the Ordos basin.Based on a systematic research on the main coalbed thickness,depth,coal quality,evolution degree,coalbed absorbability,reservoir physical property,gas bearing,and coalbed methane preservation,Yanchuannan has favorable coal beds and depth,high gas bearing and stable tectonic,which contributes to the coalbed methane accumulation and makes Yanchuannan as a favorable target of medium and high coal rank coalbed methane exploration.Comparing Yanchuannan with Daning-jixian and Hancheng,which has acquired successful exploration and development pilot test,Yanchuannan has favorable coalbed methane potential.
