Abstract
Objective: To assess the roles of oral orange-lemon juice (O.-L.J) in stimulating the exocrine pancreatic secretion and improving the delineation of pancreatic duct .Methods:19 healthy volunteers, serials of dynamic images with the same slice were obtained before and every fifteen minutes during a period of 90 minutes after the ingestion of O.-L.J.Results:The average diameter of the pancreatic duct and signal intensity of the pancreatic lumen were increased and the average time to reach the maximum values were 65.53±10 26 minutes and 61.58±6.88 respectively after oral administration of O.-L.J..Oral juice contributes to delineate the pancreatic ducts and the delineating rates of body and tail of the pancreatic duct were increased by 11%,47% respectively.More variations of pancreatic duct were also found. Conclusion:For healthy persons, oral administration of O.-L.J. can stimulate exocrine pancreatic secretion and improve the delineation of the pancreatic duct.
