Abstract
Benzyl acetate was synthesized from acetic acid and benzyl alcohol using nanometer rare earth complex superacid La3+/SO42-/TiO2 as catalyst. The influencing factors of the reaction were investigated. The results showed that the nano-La3+/SO42-/TiO2 is a green catalyst for synthesizing benzyl acetate. The oplimal conditions were found as follows: molar ratio of acid to alcohol was 1∶1.8,amount of catalyst was 10%,the taking water reagent was 15 mL,reaction time was 2.0 h and yield of benzyl acetate could reach 99.2%,and the catalyst can be reused for many times.
