Abstract

In order to solve assembly operation problem in virtual environment,a geometry constraint-based approach is proposed.A hierarchically constraints-based virtual assembly model is erected, which includes product layer, subassembly layer, part layer, feature layer, surface layer and polygon layer,to support interactive assembly and disassembly operation in virtual environment. The geometry surface based constraint solving method is proposed, the typical composite constraints recognization and application cases are studied, and the dynamic geometry constraint recognization algorithm is also discussed according to collision detection, part matching, surface matching and priority selection to improve efficiency and precision. On the basis of geometry constraint-based virtual assembly operation technology, the rapid and accurate part positioning and simulation can be realized in virtual environment.
