Abstract

The environment vibration happens in everywhere. Piezoelectric elements convert mechanical energy into electrical energy which can be applied to the MEMS,WSN and embedded system as a power module. Therefore,it can effectively prolong the life of devices and reduce costs.First,the basic principles of piezoelectric energy harvesting technology and the electromechanical coupling model are described. Then,according to the characteristics of control methods,the piezoelectric energy harvesting technology can be divided into three categories,such as passive technology,semi-active technology and active technology. Next,three different circuit models and experiment results are introduced in detail. Finally,development directions of the piezoelectric energy harvesting technology are predicted.
