Survey of Clonorchis sinensis infection in Huangpu District

Objective To survey the infectious status of Clonorchis sinensis in the population.Methods The stool samples were collected from the population and Clonorchi sinensis eggs were detected with modified Kato-katz 's thick smear method.Results A total of 512 people were surveyed and 29 were detected to be infected,with the infection rate of 5.66%.The infection rate was the highest in the residents(13.51%) and the age group of over 50 years old(16.67%).Conclusion The infection rate of Clonorchis sinensis in this district is higher than the national level,thus health education be carried out to enhance the preventive awareness in the population to reduce the infection rate of clonorchiasis.
