Adopting methods of literature consultation and filed investigation, utilization of SCP theory in industrial economics, this thesis analyses and researches sports tourism industry in Gansu province aiming at providing theoretical basis for sustainable development and pointing out future development direction. Research shows: 1) There are many enterprises of sports tourism industry in Gansu province, but with low market concentration degree and decentralization trend. 2) Products possess local geographical features with rich content and form. 3) Market structure is in transition stage from concentration to decentralization. 4) Innovation of technology and management is relatively backward with low technology product. 5) Marketing strategy and plan of sports tourism enterprises are in initial stage with ineffective marketing behavior. Corresponding countermeasures are proposed on this base: 1) Promoting combination of regional culture, improving quality. 2) Organizing well big scale competition, expanding brand infl uence of key event. 3) Cultivating popular event, improving product structure.
