Abstract
As for the calculation methods of active earth pressure acting on high retaining wall backfilled by cohesive soil, this paper studied the difference between the internal friction angle method and the force polygon method to calculate active earth pressure. Through the analysis of an engineering example. A discount coefficient to improve the combined internal friction angle method, is presented. It provids reference for future engineering application.
