Improvement of silicone tube intubation for canalicular anastemosis

Objective To improve the method of the retention of silicone tube after canalicular anastemosis and reduce the happening of complications.Methods 72 patients was done and the silicone tube was fixed to caruncle with a stitch.The stents were removed 3 months after surgery and patients were followed up for 3 months.Results 1 of the surgery failed because of the severe injury of canaliculus.Others were successful.4 patients got eversion of lower punctum.3 of the patiens got mild symptomatic epiphora postoperatively.Conclusions New method of retention of silicone tube is a successful surgery.
