Abstract
beads used as solid supports for biomedical in microfluidics have gained more attraction in recent years. However, controling and manipulating magnetic beads in microfluidics is still a problem. Here we demonstrate a novel method for immobolizing the magnetic beads and using the beads as solid phase for chromotography in microfluidics.NiFe micropillar array higher than 20um was fabricated inside the microchannel in order to generate strong magnetic field gradients and capture the magnetic beads even at a high flow rates.Captured magnetic beads would serve as a solid phase for chromatography.DNA purification were tested by this chip. The magnetic beads based chromatography method would also be used in enzyme reaction, protein purification and provide a new way for manipulate the bimolecular in microfluidics.
